Babatunde Olusola Detained For Creating former President Goodluck Jonathan Parody Twitter Account Released

The Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in Abuja, has released Babatunde Olusola a Nigerian student detained for creating a parody Twitter account of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Babatunde Olusola is an orphan and a final year student of Chemical Engineering of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Babatunde Olusola was arrested came on the orders of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to SaharaReporters, Babatunde Olusola was denied access to a lawyer while in detention for two months.

It was gathered that the LAUTECH student took ill and exhibited symptoms of Coronavirus like sore throat among others after being locked in a cell with a Chinese named Mr Wan.

His release was announced on Twitter by human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore.

Sowore, the co-convener of the Revolution Now movement, disclosed that former President Jonathan had agreed to discontinue the case.

He wrote: “#FreeShola has just been released from @PoliceNG detention in Abuja after more than 2 months for creating a parody account in the name of ex-President @GEJonathan.

The former President has also agreed to discontinue the bogus criminal trial. Great thanks to all! #RevolutionNow.
