Latest update on the reopening of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation comps was disclosed to the general public in a statement by the director-general of the NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim.
In his statement, He made it clear that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) would only reopen its orientation camps when the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 permits them to do so.
The director-general of the NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, made the statement when he visited the director-general of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu in Abuja, Daily Trust reports.
The NYSC has disclosed that it is putting strategies in place ahead of the planned reopening of orientation camps. Ibrahim disclosed that the scheme is putting strategies in place to enable safe and efficient conduct of its operations ahead of further lifting of restrictions on socio-economic activities in the country.
He said the suspended 2020 Batch ‘A’ Stream One orientation course would be completed when the NYSC receives the go-ahead from the COVID-19 task force. The NYSC DG said the scheme is putting measures in place to protect corps members from contracting COVID-19.
