Ahead of the La Liga resumption barely some days away, Lionel Messi has been spoted in training, showing fast recovery from his injury, the league leaders Barcelona are doing all they can to have their talisman in full fitness.
Barcelona fans were handed a glimmer of hope after their all-time goalscorer Lionel Messi was spotted doing sprints in the team’s latest training session at the Nou Camp. From the images shared online, it looks like the 32-year old was making some progress amid fears of a thigh injury.
While Messi continues to recover separately, photos shared by Barcelona revealed he was on the right track in terms of recovery. Barcelona will return to league action with a match against Real Mallorca on June 13, in what will be their first game since the league was suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Defender Nelson Semedo, who is also not 100% fit, also trained separately. Matches are expected to be played behind closed doors as the La Liga aims to curb the risk of a potential explosion in coronavirus cases.
